The theme of flights can be traced in the research activities of Leonardo. This is how the ornithopter was born — a device for transferring a person into the air. The scientist’s parachute already allowed him to accelerate from a height and smoothly glide down, and the ornithopter could allow him to hover over the surface for some time. Visually, the device resembled a bird or a bat, but least of all an airplane. The wings should begin to move after the pilot turns the handle. As it turned out, the scientist was really strong in aerodynamics, since if the concept was realized, the ornithopter could really fly.
